Footpaths & Walks

Matlock Bath is lucky to have many footpaths which can be accessed by walkers easily.  All of our footpaths are maintained by Derbyshire County Council.   However, Matlock Bath Parish Council does supplement maintenance of certain footpaths which are deemed popular with residents and visitors through their budget.  However, if any other footpaths are reported to us which need clearing we will consider these.

In addition, to budgeting for these footpaths, we are also part of the Derbyshire County Council’s Minor Maintenance Scheme.  The County Council fund up to £315 per annum for any clearing work undertaken on nominated footpaths.

We encourage everyone to report to us any problems on the footpaths whether it be blocked footpaths or dangerous ones due to an accumulation of wet leaves.  We cannot always guarantee to get it solved but usually between us and County Council we do.

Maps showing all of the footpaths in Matlock Bath can be found below.
