The Environment & Conservation Committee is responsible for anything to do with the Environment (excluding Climate). This Committee used to be called the Nature Reserve Committee but its remit has widened to include the florals in the village as well as Footpaths.
Derbyshire Wildlife last autumn cleared parts of the Nature Reserve of weeds and brambles. Derbyshire Wildlife has also completed work on the footpaths.
Recently volunteers (residents) have planted up the four three tier planters which will provide blooms all year round. In addition to the planters we also provide 3 barrels which is maintained by a local resident in addition to the cattle trough. As we have now purchased our own planters, four businesses have agreed to sponsor the planters by watering and maintaining them.
