Climate Advisory Group

September 2020 – At its meeting on 23rd September 2020, the Parish Council adopted a policy outlining the actions Matlock Bath Parish Council will take on Climate and Nature Emergency. This policy can be found below. The Climate Advisory Group will discuss at its next meeting how these actions can be implemented.

From Autumn 2020, the Parish Council will provide in its quarterly newsletters climate emergency information and energy saving advice leaflets produced by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) for residents.

Full Council has agreed to consider joining the Community Energy England and/or Marches Energy Agency once it has further details on both organisations.

Derbyshire Dales Climate Hub are giving residents an opportunity to shape the future of the Derbyshire Dales. The DDCH have identified several areas that have the potential for change. Change that could positively impact our local economy and residents’ health and well-being for generations to come. And at the same time limit the damaging effects of climate change and help nature cover.

DDCH have already invited MP Sarah Dines, Parish, Town, District and County Councillors to complete the survey. They now seek residents’ feedback. For the results to carry weight they need over 1,000 residents to complete it. Please get all the people in your house involved. It takes 10 minutes to complete online. You can each fill it in, and share it with your neighbours. Click here for the link to the survey.

Updates on CLIMB can be found in each of the Newsletters produced, which are published on this website.
