The Derwent Valley Rail Partnership is a group consisting of representatives of all the Parishes in the Derwent Valley and parts of the adjacent Amber Valley, Peak Rail and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, East Midlands Trains, Network Rail, Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Dales District Council.
It is chaired by an elected nominee of the County Council – at present it is our Ward Member Cllr Irene Ratcliffe with Cllr Garry Purdy, the previous Chair, as Vice Chair. The partnership has proved very effective in getting improved services from Matlock Bath and Cromford to major cities including London St Pancras, Leicester and Nottingham.
Matlock Bath Parish Council does have representation on this Partnership although it is not always possible to send anyone to the meetings. Notes from the meetings are sent through to the Parish Council as soon as they become available and can be found at the bottom of this page.
However, at these meetings there is a period at the beginning of each meeting for Public Participation when any member of the public can put their needs and suggestions to the Committee. Please continue to make your voices heard as this Committee has direct access to the train company and is greatly valued by them.
Further details can be obtained from the Parish Clerk.
